A Prayer for Our Holy FatherLord, source of eternal life and truth, give to your shepherd Benedict XVI a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as successor to the Apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ, build your Church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world. we ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.--With gratitude to EWTN Approved Prayer for the Intercession of Pope John Paul IIO Holy Trinity, we thank you for having given to the Church Pope John Paul II,and for having made him shine with your fatherly tenderness, the glory of the Cross of Christ and the splendour of the Spirit of love. He, trusting completely in your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, has shown himself in the likeness of Jesus the Good Shepherd and has pointed out to us holiness as the path to reach eternal communion with You. Grant us, through his intercession, according to your will, the grace that we implore, in the hope that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen. Taken from: L'Osservatore Romano Weekly Edition in English, 6 July 2005, page 9 Our Holy Father's Prayer Intentions for 2010Pope Benedict XVI's general prayer intention for September is: "That in less developed parts of the world the proclamation of the Word of God may renew people's hearts, encouraging them to work actively toward authentic social progress". Pray for Our Arlington Men and Women in Formation"...Let us too learn at the school of Mary to recognize the presence of the Holy Spiritin our lives, to listen to his inspirations and to follow them with docility. He makes us grow in accordance with the fullness of Christ, in accordance with those good fruits which the Apostle Paul lists in his Letter to the Galatians: 'Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." -- Pope Benedict XVI For pictures of the seminarians you are praying for, click on the following link: Arlington Seminarians
